Economic Highlights:
- The FGE Texas Project (FGE Texas I and FGE Texas II) represents over $1.2 billion
of direct investment in Mitchell County and the State of Texas - The FGE Texas Project will create 1,442 MW of electric generation capacity, creating
enough electricity to power over 1.5 million Texas homes - Interconnects at Morgan Creek Substation, with access to both North and West
ERCOT zones - Delivers high efficiency and high flexibility power to meet current and future power
supply challenges across Texas helping foster both short and long term economic
growth
Social Highlights:
- The FGE Texas Project (FGE Texas I and FGE Texas II) represents over $1.2 billion
of direct and indirect expenditures, over $100 million of additional tax revenue for the
county's tax authorities, and $5 million in annual wages for the facility's employees - FGE Texas will create over 600 jobs during construction and over 30 permanent staff
positions once fully operational (across Phase I and Phase II) - Will provide technical job training opportunities in partnership with local and regional
colleges/universities
Environmental Highlights:
- Siemens SCC6-5000F power island represents the latest and most efficient
technology, delivering one of the cleanest natural gas-fueled power plants in the
United States and highest efficiency rating in the ERCOT market and the State of
Texas - FGE Texas uses a hybrid cooling system which reduces water consumption by 70%
and sources water solely from brackish wells and community effluent wastewater,
providing for more sustainable use of water resources - Interconnects at Morgan Creek Substation, with access to both North and West
ERCOT zones - Direct and indirect reduction in carbon pollution with reliance on clean Texas natural
gas and with ability to support greater wind and solar resources across ERCOT
