Peaker Natural Gas

Creating a reliable energy supply for the state of Texas

Consisting of a dozen 500MW natural gas “peaker” projects, the FGE Power Peaker portfolio is currently under development and strategically located within ERCOT. The portfolio acts as our response to critical inadequacies and reliability issues in ERCOT, which were revealed during 2021’s Winter Storm Uri, as well as through subsequent extreme temperatures and weather conditions in the years since.

“Driven by the incredible growth in industrial manufacturing and data center usage, the State of Texas stands to realize a doubling of its peak power demand in less than 5 years. FGE Power has accelerated its plans to bring more than 6 GW of peaker power plants across Texas to help address the massive shortfall in power supply facing our state's economy.” — Emerson Farrell, CEO, FGE Power
